"Works great with my hi-res setup"
I’ve been using Roon with my hi-res music files and DAC, and it’s been a really solid experience. The whole process was easy overall, and once I got everything connected, it found my music without much hassle. Playback sounds great, and it handles my library really nicely. It’s not totally perfect, but I’m definitely happy with it.
"The docs actually made setup easy"
The docs were really clear. I was setting things up, had a couple questions, and yeah, I found the answers quickly without having to dig around too much.

"Dealing with billing was such a hassle"
I tried updating my account because I thought I had everything handled, but I ended up getting billed anyway. When I went looking for the cancel option, it really wasn’t obvious where to find it, which made the whole thing even more frustrating. I also reached out to support, but it took longer than I expected to hear back. The app itself might be totally fine, but my experience with the account and billing side left me annoyed

"Endpoint setup was honestly easier than I expected"
I know people sometimes make endpoint setup sound like a hassle, but that really wasn’t my experience. Roon found my streamers, laptop, and Chromecast devices without me having to mess with much at all. I did run into one issue with a Pi endpoint, but before anyone says it’s a nightmare, the support docs actually got me sorted quickly. So far, I’m genuinely happy with it.

"Decent sound, but not blown away"
The sound is good overall, but it literally feels kind of flat sometimes. It’s fine for everyday use, just not as amazing as I was hoping.

"Great sound, but the Windows app gets on my nerves"
I mostly use Roon on my Windows desktop, and I’ll admit I’m a bit biased because I really care about a clean music library and good sound. When it’s working well, I enjoy it a lot. The library layout looks nice, and I can usually find albums without digging around forever.
That said, the desktop app can feel kind of clunky. It’s slower to open than I’d like, and I’ve had a few random freezes after updates. Maybe I’m less patient than some people, but when I just want to put on music, that stuff gets annoying fast.
The support pages did help me figure out a couple things, so I’m not saying it’s a bad service. I still like Roon overall, especially for how it handles my collection, but for the price I expected the Windows app to feel more polished and smoother day to day.
"Remote access is unreliable"
Remote access has not been working well for me. It keeps cutting out. Frustrating...

"Roon has been super reliable for me..."
Roon has been super reliable for me. I haven’t had a single crash in months, which makes it feel worth using every day.
"I reached out for help i’m still waiting..."
I reached out for help i’m still waiting. Compared to other companies where support usually gets back quickly, this felt like I was just left hanging.

"I like the idea, but the streaming support..."
I like the idea, but the streaming support just feels a bit too limited right now. It really needs more music services added because otherwise I keep running into moments where I think I can use it, and then... not really.

"Rediscovered a bunch of music I’d forgotten"
I’ve been using Roon for a bit now, one of my favorite things is how it keeps bringing up music I probably wouldn’t have thought to look for. I’ll start with one album and suddenly I’m finding old favorites, side projects, or artists that somehow fit perfectly.
It’s made listening feel more enjoyable again, instead of just endlessly scrolling and not picking anything. If you’re someone who likes getting pulled into music rabbit holes, I’d say it’s definitely worth trying.

"I’m probably a little biased because I..."
I’m probably a little biased because I already really like Roon, but the sync around my house has been great. I’ve got it running in three rooms, and the music stays lined up without that annoying echo or delay. Even when I switch zones around quickly, it just works. I’ve been really happy with it.

"Worth it for how much I use it"
I wasn’t totally sure about paying for Roon at first, but after using it for a while, the subscription feels fair. I’m on it almost every day, and it really makes managing my music setup so much easier. It’s not exactly cheap, but for how often I use it and what it does, it feels like good value to me. I actually had a friend recommend it, and now I get why

"Surprisingly easy to mess with"
I wasn’t expecting much from the DSP settings, since stuff like this is usually more annoying than helpful. But after playing around with it a little, the sound actually got cleaner. Not bad at all for something I thought would be a hassle.

"Multi-room playback has been messy"
I tried using Roon for multi-room audio, and it’s been frustrating. Rooms keep dropping out or drifting out of sync for no clear reason. One speaker will be playing fine while another is lagging behind, which kind of defeats the whole point. For what it costs, I really expected it to be a lot more stable.

"The mobile app’s been solid"
I’ve been using Roon on my phone for a bit now, and it’s been a smooth experience. It’s easy to browse albums, switch between rooms, and control what’s playing without feeling like I’m digging around menus. I noticed one small bit of lag once, but it wasn’t a big deal. Overall, really happy with it.

"Lifetime price feels a bit steep"
So... I bought the lifetime plan thinking it would be a good value in the long run, but the price still feels high. The updates haven’t really added enough for me to feel like it was worth it.

"Worked with pretty much all my gear"
Set it up and it found most of my Roon Ready gear without any fuss. Straightforward experience overall, and it did exactly what I needed it to do.

"Pretty reliable home network overall"
I went with my gut on this setup, and it’s been a good call. Streaming is smooth most of the time, with just the occasional little lag here and there, but nothing that really bothers me.

"Looks nice, but kinda messy tbh"
roonlabs looks good overall, and I’m a fan of the dark vibe. But ngl, the interface can feel a bit crowded sometimes, especially when I’m jumping between albums, artists, and settings. A few buttons aren’t where I expect them to be, so I end up clicking around more than I should lol. It’s not bad at all, just could be a little less confusing.
